Chemical hazards toxicological evaluation database

Last Updated August 31, 2023
The Food Safety Commission of Japan (FSCJ) has published risk assessments through the work of scientists since 2003 and provided risk assessment reports in PDF format in Japanese. We have also provided English summary for some chemical hazards. In order to share key toxicological data in those reports with the relevant stakeholders and to improve public access to key toxicological data, a chemical hazards toxicological evaluation database is established.
The database includes the following key toxicological information:
Genotoxicity;
Toxicological findings;
Point of Departure (Route, Test, Duration, Species, Endpoint, Value (LOAEL, NOAEL etc.));
Reference value (ARfD, ADI etc.); and
Safety factor
In March 2023, The FSCJ launched the database for food additives evaluated by the FSCJ. The users can download the above data for each individual chemical hazard in xls, csv or pdf format.
The FSCJ is planning to develop the database for pesticides evaluated by the FSCJ, by the end of FY2023. The preliminary version for selected active substances can be accessed below.
This database will be expanded to other chemical substances evaluated by the FSCJ and updated by regular basis.
